| Obverse description | Central device consisting of a large interlaced five-pointed star (Seal of Solomon) in relief, with ornate floral arabesque motifs filling each of the five interior angles between the star's points. A bilingual circular legend surrounds the star: in Arabic script along the upper arc reading the royal title, and in Latin capitals along the lower and lateral arc reading EMPIRE CHERIFIEN with MAROC at the base. Separating the Latin and Arabic legends are small decorative dot stops. The overall design is bold and deeply struck, characteristic of a piedfort essai production. |

| Reverse description | The denomination is expressed prominently at centre with the large numeral 2 above the word FRANCS in Latin capitals, with the word ESSAI inscribed in small letters immediately below. Above the denomination, the value is also rendered in Arabic script (فرنكان). The dual dating appears on either side: to the left An / 1945 in Latin characters and to the right عام / 1364 in Arabic numerals, denoting the Gregorian and Hijri years respectively. A circular Arabic legend naming the sultan Mohammed V surrounds the entire field, and the engraver's name HAINAUT appears incuse along the lower rim. |
