Obverse description Central device consisting of a large interlaced five-pointed star (the Seal of Solomon), rendered in relief against a field decorated with floral arabesques in each of the five inter-point spaces. The Arabic legend الدولة المغربية (Empire Cherifien) curves along the upper periphery, while the bilingual legend EMPIRE CHERIFIEN in Latin script flanks the left and right sides respectively. The lower arc bears the inscription MAROC in Latin characters, flanked by dots as separators, with the Arabic equivalent المغرب positioned immediately above. The overall design is rendered in a clean, modernist style typical of Monnaie de Paris essai issues of the mid-twentieth century.
