Obverse description Printed in mauve on a beige guilloche underprint, the note bears two manuscript signatures below the issuer's name, with the serial number in black. A typographic distinction exists between issues: notes numbered below 100,000 carry a large 'N' in the number prefix, while those above 100,000 use a narrower 'N'.

The Chambres de Commerce emergency issues of 1914–1918 came directly out of the coin shortage that followed mobilization — the public hoarded metal within weeks of war being declared, and local commercial bodies stepped in to fill the gap that the Banque de France was too slow to address. Agen's chamber was among dozens across France to produce its own fractional notes, each valid only within the local economy.

The JP# references here span four catalogue numbers, indicating multiple series or date variants under a single type. Worth tracking carefully — later printings within the Agen 2 Franc issues differ in serial placement and border details.
