Reverse description Within a wreath composed of intertwined oak and alpine rose branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, four lines of text occupy the central field reading ESSAI / DE PRESSE / MONET. / M.L.B., the latter being the initials of the engraver Marc Louis Bovy, separated from the preceding line by a small ornamental dash. The wreath is rendered in high relief with finely detailed foliage, the oak branches on the right contrasting with the olive-like sprigs on the left, all enclosed within a beaded border.
