Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the enthroned Madonna is depicted seated upon a crescent, holding the Christ Child in her right arm. Beneath the figure, an escutcheon displays the Austrian bond (fesse). The composition is rendered in the Gothic-influenced Hungarian Renaissance style characteristic of Kremnica coinage of the period. The encircling Latin legend runs along the outer periphery of the coin.
