Obverse description Full-length figure of Ferdinand III standing facing, crowned and robed in royal Hungarian attire with an ermine-lined mantle, holding a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left. The mint mark KB (Kremnica) flanks the king's figure at mid-field, with K to the left and B to the right. The effigy is rendered in the fine hammered style characteristic of mid-17th-century Hungarian gold coinage, set within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend reads: FERDINAN : III · D · G · R · I · S · A · G · H · B · REX ·, identifying the ruler as Ferdinand III, by the Grace of God King of Romans, Hungary, and Bohemia.
