| Additional information |
Sinkiang's copper coinage of the late Qing period emerged from a province that was perpetually underfunded and administratively isolated from Beijing. The Dihua mint — modern Ürümqi — operated under chronic resource constraints, and the mountain motif on this denomination reflects a deliberate regional distinction from central government issues. Y#A2 is among the scarcer of the Sinkiang copper types; the provincial mint's output was irregular, and surviving pieces frequently show uneven planchet preparation consistent with locally refined copper of inconsistent quality.
