| Reverse description | Bimetallic reverse featuring the standard 2 euro common reverse design by Luc Luycx: a large numeral '2' dominates the right portion of the gold-coloured inner disc, overlaid with a map of Europe showing national borders. To the left, twelve five-pointed stars of the European Union are arranged in an arc against the field. The legend 'SPECIMEN' appears in the upper left along the inner ring border. |

| Additional information |
Cyprus adopted the euro on 1 January 2008, making 2007 the year of specimen and starter kit production ahead of the official changeover. These pieces were struck at the Finnish Mint in Vantaa, which held the contract for Cypriot euro coinage from the outset. Circulation examples from the first years of Cypriot euro issue are relatively common, but true 2007-dated specimens with confirmed provenance from official introduction sets carry a modest premium among type collectors.
