Obverse description The obverse depicts a panoramic view of the Skorba Temples, one of Malta's prehistoric megalithic complexes dating from approximately 3600 to 2500 BC, rendered in low relief across the central field. The massive stone uprights and threshold slabs of the temple façade are shown in careful detail, evoking the monumental character of the Neolithic site. The inscription 'SKORBA TEMPLES 3600–2500 BC' appears in the upper field, while 'MALTA' and the date '2020' are inscribed in the lower field. The engraver's initials 'NGB' appear alongside a small stylised motif below the central design. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union.
