Reverse description The reverse displays a cartographic representation of the European continent rendered without national borders, positioned to the left of centre within the inner disc. The face value '2 EURO' is inscribed to the right of the map, with the designer's initials 'LL' (Luc Luycx) appearing beneath. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union, consistent with the standard reverse design used across the eurozone.

Additional information

Issued to mark the 150th anniversary of the 1863 Finnish Diet, convened by Tsar Alexander II in Helsingfors after a decades-long suspension of parliamentary sessions. That convocation was the first since 1809 and effectively restarted Finnish constitutional life under Russian imperial rule, setting the trajectory toward the autonomy that preceded independence by half a century.
