| Obverse description | The brass center features a forward-facing effigy of a Dachshund (Teckel), depicted in a naturalistic style with characteristic elongated body and short legs, rendered in high relief against a smooth field. The dog is shown in a seated or resting posture, its head prominently displayed with fine detail on the facial features and coat. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the inscription CATALUNYA arching across the upper portion and the date 2025 at the lower portion, both in Latin script. Stars typical of the Euro series adorn the ring between the lettering elements. |

Part of Spain's "Our Pets" commemorative series, this issue is one of the more unusual entries in the €2 commemorative program — the European Central Bank's guidelines permit member states two commemorative €2 coins per year, and Spain has increasingly used that allowance for culturally lighthearted subjects. The Teckel, known in Spain as the "perro salchicha," has maintained an outsized presence in Spanish popular culture relative to its actual ownership numbers.
