| Obverse description | The inner disc features a depiction of Santiago Peregrino (Saint James the Pilgrim) standing before the central arch of the Holy Door (Puerta Santa) of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, rendered in fine relief. The inscription ESPAÑA appears to the left of the central motif, accompanied by the mint year 2018 and the crowned 'M' mint mark of Madrid below. The twelve stars of the European Union are arranged in a ring around the entire composition within the outer ring, framing the national design. |
