| Obverse description | The inner disc features a right-facing portrait of Milan Rastislav Štefánik in the centre, rendered in high relief. To the left of the effigy, the dates '1880' and '1919', denoting his birth and death years respectively, are arranged vertically in the field. A semi-circular legend along the left and upper portion of the inner disc reads 'MILAN RASTISLAV ŠTEFÁNIK' above the country name 'SLOVENSKO'. The year of issue '2019' appears to the right of the portrait, beneath which are the designer's initials 'PV' for Peter Valach, followed by the Kremnica Mint mark 'MK' flanked by two die symbols. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union flag. |
