| Obverse description | The national side, designed by Noel Galea Bason, depicts the badge of the Malta Police Force prominently in the centre of the inner disc. Encircling the badge is the commemorative legend '200 YEARS · MALTA POLICE FORCE · PULIZIJA TA` MALTA · DOMINE DIRIGE NOS' along with the anniversary dates '1814 - 2014', marking the 200th anniversary of the Force's establishment by Proclamation XXII of 1814. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union. The design references the Malta Police Force as one of the oldest police services in Europe. |
