Obverse description The inner disc features a superimposed triple portrait composition: the effigy of Grand Duke Henri, facing left, is overlaid upon those of Grand Duke Jean and Grand Duchess Charlotte, evoking Luxembourg's dynastic continuity. The inscription LËTZEBUERG arcs above the effigies along the upper inner field, while the names JEAN, CHARLOTTE, and HENRI identify the respective portraits below. The date 2011, flanked by the mint mark and mintmaster's privy mark, appears in the upper portion of the inner disc. The reverse legend GRAND-DUCHÉ DE LUXEMBOURG, GROSSHERZOGTUM LUXEMBURG, and GROUSSHERZOGTUM LËTZEBUERG encircles the design in three languages. The outer ring bears the twelve stars of the European Union.
