| Obverse description | The central field depicts the Ġgantija megalithic temple complex of Gozo, one of the world's oldest free-standing structures, constructed approximately in the 36th century BC, predating both Stonehenge and the Egyptian Pyramids. The legend 'ĠGANTIJA TEMPLES' appears in the upper right, with the date range '3600-3200 BC' inscribed beneath it.
