| Reverse description | The standard European common reverse depicts a geographical map of Western Europe spanning both the inner disc and the outer ring on the right side of the coin, as designed by Luc Luycx. The bold numeral 2 is prominently placed in the left field of the inner disc, set against the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean, with the inscription EURO to its right superimposed over the map. Six vertical relief lines traverse the inner disc vertically, linking the upper and lower segments of the design. Twelve stars of the European Union are distributed along the right portion of the outer ring, six above and six below the map. |
