Austria was among the last eurozone states to issue a commemorative €2 marking the thirtieth anniversary of the EU flag, doing so in 2015 as part of a coordinated multi-nation release. The flag design itself dates to 1955, when the Council of Europe adopted it — the European Community didn't take it on until 1986, making the anniversary figure somewhat contested depending on which institution you're counting from.
