| Reverse description | The standard European Union common reverse, designed by Luc Luycx, depicts a geographical map of Western Europe spanning both the inner disc and outer ring on the right side of the coin. The denomination '2 EURO' is superimposed over the map, with the large numeral '2' set against the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean. Twelve stars of the European Union are arranged along the right portion of the outer ring, divided equally above and below the map, while six vertical relief lines crossing the inner disc visually connect the upper and lower star groups.
