| Obverse description | The national obverse features the Celtic harp, Ireland's traditional symbol, centrally positioned in the inner disc. The Irish-language country name 'ÉIRE' appears as a legend to the left of the harp, with the year of issue inscribed to the right. The twelve five-pointed stars of the European Union are arranged in a continuous ring around the outer band, symbolising European unity. The design was executed by engraver Jarlath Hayes in a clean, uncluttered style consistent with Irish euro coinage. |
