| Obverse description | The inner disk depicts a stylised globe rendered in the form of the euro symbol, representing the currency's global significance over its first decade of circulation. Surrounding the central motif are five vignettes in the field symbolising key societal and economic domains: a family group representing ordinary citizens, the Eurotower representing the financial sector, a cargo ship representing international trade, a factory representing industry, and two wind turbines representing energy and research. The designer's initials 'A.H.' appear discreetly between the ship and the Eurotower. Along the upper arc of the inner disk is the issuing country's name 'EESTI', and along the lower arc are the commemorative dates '2002–2012'. The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union. |

The outer ring carries the twelve stars of the European Union, evenly spaced around the full circumference. |
