Additional information

All eurozone members were required to issue a commemorative 2 euro coin in 2009 marking the tenth anniversary of Economic and Monetary Union — this was one of the few instances where a common reverse design was mandated across the entire currency area simultaneously. Slovenia joined the euro only in 2007, meaning this coin commemorates a union the country had been part of for just two years.
