Reverse description The standard European Union reverse design features a geographical map of Western Europe spanning both the outer ring and the inner core on the right side of the coin. The denomination 2 EURO is superimposed over the map, with the numeral 2 prominently placed in the open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean. Six vertical stripes traverse the inner core, visually linking the upper and lower star groupings. Twelve stars are arranged around the outer ring, six above and six below the map of Europe. The mint mark LL appears in the field.

Additional information

Belgium's National Lottery dates to 1934, established by royal decree as a Depression-era revenue mechanism. This commemorative 2 Euro marks the lottery's 90th anniversary — though the institution itself has outlasted several of the economic crises it was originally designed to help offset.
