| Obverse description | The obverse features a right-facing mouflon (Ovis gmelini ophion), the wild sheep indigenous to Cyprus and a symbol of the island's native fauna, rendered in detailed relief at center. Twelve stars of the European Union encircle the design along the rim. The bilingual legend appears in the field, reading 'ΚΥΠΡΟΣ' in Greek script and 'KIBRIS' in Latin script — both meaning 'Cyprus' — flanking the year of issue. |
