| Obverse description | The obverse features a left-facing portrait bust of the celebrated Slovenian poet France Prešeren, rendered in a stylised artistic manner. The legend 'FRANCE PREŠEREN' appears alongside the first line of the seventh stanza of Zdravljica, the Slovenian national anthem, reading 'Živé naj vsi naródi' (meaning 'God's blessing on all nations'). The inscription 'SLOVENIJA' is distributed letter by letter among the twelve stars of the European Union, which encircle the central design. The year of issue appears in the lower portion of the field. |
