Obverse description Right-facing armored bust of Carlos III, struck under the name of Carlos IV, with elaborate curled wig and lace cravat, rendered in the portrait style carried over from the previous reign. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading from the lower left and interrupted at top right. The date is positioned in the exergue at the base of the bust, flanked by dots. The milled border frames the entire design.

Reverse description Central crowned quartered shield bearing the arms of Castile and León with Granada at base and the escutcheon of the Bourbon dynasty, encircled by the collar and badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The denomination numeral '2' appears to the left of the shield and the assayer mark 'S' to the right. The mint mark 'NR' and assayer initials appear below the shield, and the surrounding circular Latin legend is separated by pellets. The milled border frames the entire design.
