Obverse description Draped bust of Charles III facing right, struck under Charles IV whose name appears in the legend, with the effigy retaining the portrait style of his predecessor. The king is shown wearing armor with a decorative collar, his hair styled in a short queue. The circular legend reads CAROL IIII D G HISP ET IND R, and the date appears in the exergue below the bust, flanked by small ornamental dots.

Reverse description Crowned quartered royal arms of Spain within an ornate shield, displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León alternating in the quarters, with a pomegranate at the base. The circular legend IN UTROQ FELIX AUSPICE DEO surrounds the central device, all within a milled border.
