| Reverse description | The Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) stands in profile to the right in the central field, bearing a tall staff surmounted by a banner or pennant, symbolizing victory and peace. The lamb is rendered in high relief atop a grassy groundline, with the engraver's initials ST visible in the lower field. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the central device, reading TEMPORA NOSTRA PATER DONA NI PACE CORONA, a devotional inscription invoking the Father to crown our times with peace. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded or milled inner border and an outer wreath of laurel branches, echoing the obverse design. The composition is characteristic of German baroque medallic art of the early nineteenth century. |
