Obverse description Three armorial shields arranged vertically and elaborately adorned with floral and fruit garlands in the Baroque style. The uppermost shield is surmounted by a dove displayed with wings, holding a palm branch — a symbol of peace — while the two lower shields bear the arms of the city of Nuremberg. The mintmaster's signature initials appear in the lower field below the shields. The surrounding legend, interrupted by a cross pattée, reads in Latin.
