| Obverse description | Facing busts of Henry II of Navarre and Margaret of Valois in vis-à-vis arrangement, their truncations nearly touching at centre, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. Henry appears at left with a laureate and draped bust, while Margaret's draped bust faces him from the right. A royal crown surmounts the space between the two effigies, and a small cow — the traditional emblem of Béarn — is depicted in the lower field between the busts. The surrounding legend in Latin runs along the outer border, separated from the central design by a beaded circle. |

| Reverse description | The central field displays a large quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of Navarre and Béarn, surmounted by an ornate royal crown with fleurs-de-lis and trefoil finials. The quarterly shield incorporates the emblems of the respective territories, rendered in fine relief. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend disposed around the outer border, the date 1576 integrated into the inscription. |
