| Obverse description | Draped and veiled bust of Bona of Savoy, Duchess of Milan and regent, facing right, her hair drawn back beneath a fine veil rendered in high relief with delicate linear detail. A small helmeted or crowned head appears as an ornamental device at the top of the surrounding circular legend. The portrait is executed in the refined Renaissance style characteristic of Milanese coinage of the late fifteenth century, with strong facial modeling and naturalistic drapery at the shoulder. |
