| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of King Frederik III facing right, wearing an ornate closed crown with floral decoration. The king is depicted with long flowing hair and a short beard, his armor richly engraved and fitted with a decorative gorget. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque portrait style characteristic of mid-17th century Danish coinage. The circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading from the lower left and continuing around the field. |
