| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of King Frederik III facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing curly hair adorned with a laurel wreath, in the classical Baroque style. The portrait is bold and finely engraved, with the truncation of the bust visible at the bottom of the field. The circular Latin legend reads FRID. III. D. G. REX. DANIÆ around the periphery, interrupted by the portrait. The mint master's initials GK (for Gregorius Kohl) appear below the bust at the bottom of the field. |
