| Reverse description | A large, detailed three-masted man-of-war sailing ship is depicted in full sail upon stylized waves, occupying the central field in bold relief characteristic of baroque goldsmith work. The word TANDEM is inscribed in two parts flanking the ship's hull, referring to the motto 'at last' in allusion to the divine guidance of the realm. The date 1667 appears in the exergue beneath the waves, divided by a small trefoil ornament. The circular Latin legend DOMINUS PROVIDEBIT ('The Lord will provide') runs along the upper periphery, interrupted by decorative stops. The composition reflects the maritime power and religious confidence of the Danish monarchy under Frederik III. |
