Above the central scene, the Latin legend reads FRID: AUG: / REX ELECTOR in two lines. Below the scene, a four-line Latin inscription reads VICARIUS / POST MORT: IOSEPHI / IMPERAT: / MDCCXI., with the mint master's initials I·L·H· inscribed in the lower exergue, commemorating Frederick August I's role as Imperial Vicar following the death of Emperor Joseph I in 1711.
