Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of Ferdinand II facing right, depicted in the late Gothic style characteristic of the Aragonese Crown coinage. The king wears an ornate floral crown and richly decorated robes, rendered with fine engraved detail. A beaded inner border frames the effigy, and a Latin legend in Gothic lettering runs along the outer margin. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hammered gold coinage of this period.
