Obverse description Draped bust of King Christian V with flowing long hair, facing right, occupying the central field. A continuous Latin legend encircles the effigy along the periphery, separated from the bust by an inner beaded border. The portrait is rendered in the baroque style typical of late 17th-century Scandinavian coinage.

Reverse description At center, an oval shield bearing the crowned rampant Norwegian lion passant, holding a halved axe and facing left, is superimposed upon a cross pattée. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown. A Latin motto legend surrounds the central device, and a beaded ring runs along the inner edge of the coin. The overall composition reflects the formal heraldic style characteristic of Danish-Norwegian royal coinage of the period.
