Obverse description Draped bust of Carl XI facing left, with long flowing hair, enclosed within a circular legend. The portrait is rendered in a bold, somewhat naive style characteristic of provincial hammered gold coinage of the period. The king is depicted without a laurel wreath, his hair falling in loose curls over his shoulder and chest. The legend encircles the effigy close to the coin's rim.
