| Obverse description | Central device comprising the quartered coat of arms of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst, displaying alternating fields of horizontal bars with Maltese crosses and a rampant lion, surmounted by an ornate comital crown. The shield is rendered in high relief with finely engraved heraldic detail. A circular Latin legend surrounds the arms, reading AUXILIUM MEUM A DOMINO ('My help comes from the Lord'), separated from the inner field by a plain border. The overall composition is characteristic of late seventeenth-century German milled coinage. |
