| Obverse description | The arms of Zürich — a per fess shield divided diagonally with horizontal lines on the upper half and plain on the lower — are displayed centrally within an elaborate baroque cartouche. Two rampant lions act as heraldic supporters to either side of the shield, each facing inward; the dexter lion raises a palm frond in its inner forepaw while the sinister lion brandishes an upright sword. The cartouche base is adorned with scrollwork and foliate ornaments in the baroque style. The circumferential legend MONETA REIPUBLICÆ TIGURINÆ runs along the upper periphery in Latin capital letters, separated from the design by a plain inner border and a beaded outer rim. |

| Reverse description | A large, elaborate wreath composed of olive branches and scrolling acanthus foliage encloses the four-line Latin devotional inscription DOMINE / CONSERVA / NOS IN / PACE, with the date rendered in Arabic numerals on the lowest line of the central field. At the apex of the wreath, a small ornamental cartouche bearing the arms of Zürich is suspended by ribbon-tied foliate swags, flanked by floral garlands. A small quatrefoil ornament appears at the base of the wreath interior. The entire composition is executed in the high baroque manner, with deeply modelled relief throughout, and is encircled by a beaded border. |
