| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Alberico I Cybo Malaspina facing right, wearing a ruff collar and elaborately decorated cuirass rendered in fine relief. The hair and beard are rendered with considerable naturalistic detail characteristic of late Renaissance Italian die-cutting. The bust is contained within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend circumscribing the field. The last two digits of the date, 93, appear as part of the obverse legend flanked by six-pointed stars. |
