| Reverse description | A dramatic, full-color stylized portrait of Batman rendered in the graphic-novel art style of Frank Miller's 'The Dark Knight Returns', dominates the reverse. The right portion of the field features a vivid red background with a close-up of Batman's cowled head and cape in dark tones, accented with dynamic ink-splatter effects in black and red evoking the original comic book artwork. The left portion of the field retains the natural silver surface, bearing the vertically oriented legend 'THE DARK KNIGHT' in bold raised lettering. The DC copyright notice and series number '©DC (516)' appear in the upper left portion of the field. |

| Additional information |
Frank Miller's 1986 miniseries is widely credited with redirecting mainstream superhero comics toward darker, more psychologically complex material — a shift that reshaped DC's publishing strategy for decades. Fiji has issued a number of DC-licensed silver pieces, nearly all of them legal tender in name only, produced by the Perth Mint for the collector market rather than circulation.
The two-troy-ounce weight places this squarely in Perth's standard high-relief collector format for licensed pop-culture issues of the mid-2010s.
