| Reverse description | The reverse presents two life-size, highly detailed portrait busts of Chinese Terracotta Warriors rendered in deeply sculpted high relief, facing inward toward one another at the center of the coin. Each warrior displays finely engraved facial features, including beards, mustaches, and individually distinct expressions, faithfully evoking the individualized craftsmanship of the original Qin dynasty funerary sculptures. The textured background between the two faces mimics the cracked, aged surface of terracotta clay, lending an authentic archaeological character to the composition. Three Chinese characters (兵马俑, meaning 'Terracotta Warriors') appear in small script at the upper center of the field between the two figures. The entire design is struck in antique finish, enhancing the ancient stone-like appearance of the irregular flan. |
