Fiji's Reserve Bank has issued a long-running series of shaped and colorized bullion pieces marketed primarily through the secondary collector market rather than domestic circulation. The "Seashell" coins sit squarely in that category — struck for export, priced well above melt, and rarely if ever handled as currency on the islands themselves.
KM#769 is one of several dozen similar Fijian issues from this period licensed to European distributors, most commonly CIT Coin Invest of Liechtenstein, who have supplied the blanks and technology for shaped silver pieces bearing Pacific island authority to a dozen issuing nations simultaneously.
