| Obverse description | Central depiction of the Quebec Bridge rendered in fine relief, showing the iconic cantilever truss structure with a steam locomotive passing beneath the main span. A small maple leaf device appears at the top of the field above the bridge image. The date 1987 is inscribed in the lower central field. The surrounding legend, divided along the periphery, reads PONT DE QUÉBEC at the top, 70E ANNIVERSAIRE below the maple leaf, and VALEUR DE $2.00 À CHARNY JUSQU'AU 20 SEPTEMBRE 1987 along the lower arc, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the bridge's completion and confirming the token's local exchange value. |

| Additional information |
This token was issued to commemorate the Quebec Bridge, which had one of the most catastrophic construction histories of any major structure in North America. The south cantilever arm collapsed in 1907, killing 75 workers, and a second collapse in 1916 killed 13 more during the installation of the central span. The bridge finally opened in 1919 — seventeen years after construction began — and remains the longest cantilever bridge in the world by main span.
