| Reverse description | The heraldic arms of the City of North York displayed centrally within a beaded inner border. The shield bears a beaver passant atop a mural crown, with a mushroom and a balance of scales in the quartered lower fields, all supported by flanking maple leaf and floral column devices. A ribbon scroll beneath the shield bears the motto 'PROGRESS WITH ECONOMY'. The circular legend 'CITY OF NORTH YORK' arcs across the upper field, while 'NORTH YORK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE' curves along the lower periphery. |

| Additional information |
North York ceased to exist as an independent city on January 1, 1998, when the "megacity" amalgamation folded it — along with Etobicoke, Scarborough, York, and East York — into the new City of Toronto. This chamber scrip was issued just two years before that political merger, making it a minor artifact of municipal identity in its final hours.
