| Reverse description | The reverse features a football rendered in pad-printed green at centre, encircled by a light green ring. Flanking the central device are stylised lines and curved elements evocative of a football pitch or field markings. The logo of Football Australia is displayed prominently above the central motif. The inscription MATILDAS arcs across the field with the founding year EST 1978 below, referencing the establishment of the Australian women's national football team. |

| Additional information |
Issued to coincide with Australia co-hosting the FIFA Women's World Cup alongside New Zealand, this coin arrived at a moment of genuine national fervour — the Matildas reached the semi-finals, their deepest run in tournament history, before falling to Spain. The Royal Australian Mint used pad printing to achieve the green colouring, the same process deployed on its earlier coloured circulation issues, allowing these to enter general circulation rather than existing purely as collector pieces.
