Obverse description Special Memorial Obverse featuring the sixth and final crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, as designed by Jody Clark. The Queen is depicted wearing the George IV State Diadem and the Victorian Coronation Necklace. The legend reads ELIZABETH II 1952-2022 flanking the portrait, with AUSTRALIA 2023 and the engraver's initials JC also present in the field. This commemorative obverse was adopted following the passing of Her Majesty in September 2022.

Reverse description The reverse displays a centrally positioned Iroquois (Bell UH-1 Huey) helicopter, a iconic aircraft of the Vietnam War, surrounded by a decorative ring composed of military ribbon colours associated with the Vietnam campaign. The outer ring bears the inscription VIETNAM WAR and the denomination TWO DOLLARS, flanked by two seven-pointed Commonwealth stars. The Royal Australian Mint's Canberra mint mark C appears in the field.
