Additional information

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issues currency on behalf of eight member states — Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Anguilla, and Montserrat — a monetary union that has maintained a hard peg of 2.70 EC dollars to the US dollar since 1976. The face value of 2 EC dollars on a one-ounce .999 silver piece is purely nominal; the coin was never intended for circulation and the denomination amounts to roughly 74 US cents.
