Additional information

Fiji has issued a steady stream of novelty bullion pieces aimed squarely at the collector market, and this goldfish issue is squarely in that tradition — a legal tender assignment from the Reserve Bank that involves no expectation of circulation. The denomination is nominal; the coin's entire commercial rationale is the secondary collector and gift market, where silver rounds dressed as Pacific island currency have found consistent buyers since at least the early 2010s.
